KURU seeks to operate a non-commercial, volunteer-based community radio station in Silver City, NM, to provide programming and media access to segments of the community that are underserved.

KURU sees itself as a vital and vibrant hub around which other organizations and individuals can engage with the community more effectively.

It is a public square.

It provides the soapbox and the megaphone.

But it also sees the infrastructure that it creates as not simply an available resource, but a catalyst for more—and more effective—community activism and democratic processes in our region.
