Richard Ellis Hawley is a versatile North East-based musician and entertainer with decades of experience performing for weddings, care homes, churches, funerals, private celebrations and corporate events.
Music has been at the heart of Richard’s life from an early age. His musical background spans more than four decades and includes extensive experience as a brass musician, keyboard player, pianist and church organist. He has performed with numerous brass bands across the UK and New Zealand and has developed a particularly distinctive style of keyboard entertainment using the Yamaha Tyros.
Richard specialises in bringing the music of the 1950s, 60s and 70s back to life, alongside favourites from the Great American Songbook, musical theatre, film, traditional British music and classic popular repertoire. His performances can recreate everything from a gentle grand-piano atmosphere to the exciting sound of the famous Blackpool Tower Wurlitzer, making his shows particularly popular for nostalgic entertainment and care-home audiences.
His achievements include being named North East Keyboard Entertainer of the Year in 2018 and 2020, and his performing career has included the memorable privilege of playing for members of the Royal Family at York Races.
Alongside live keyboard entertainment, Richard works as a church and funeral organist, providing sensitive and professional music for services, weddings. Etc
